Intel discontinues Xeon and Atom processors
Jun 05, 2012: Intel today announced discontinuation of large number of Atom and
Xeon microprocessors. By the end of this year, the company is going to
retire 45nm Atom CPUs with "Pineview" core. Furthermore, Intel will
discontinue Xeon 3400-series chips for single-socket workstations,
and Xeon MPs from 6500 and 7500 series. Most of End-of-Lifed microprocessors
were introduced in the second half of 2009 and the first half of
2010.
Atom D425 and D525 target NAS market
Aug 18, 2010: Two days ago, on August 16, Intel announced expanding its latest
Atom D425 and Atom D525 CPUs into networked storage appliances market.
The D425 and D535 Atom processors incorporate per-core 512 KB L2
cache, and support HyperThreading technology.

microprocessors with DDR3 support - single-core Atom N455 and N475,
available immediately, and single-core Atom D425 / dual-core Atom
