Intel launches Z2500-series Atom chips for smartphones
Feb 27, 2013: Earlier this week Intel launched Clover Trail+ platform, comprised
of three Atom Z2500 series system-on-a-chips, Intel XMM 7160 LTE
modem, and a reference smartphone design. The new platform is still
based on 32nm technology, but it offers quite a few benefits over
Medfield platform, that was introduced last year. According to Intel,
Atom "Clover Trail+" products have up to 2 times better CPU
performance and up to 3 times better graphics performance than
Medfield counterparts.
