Dual-core T40E was released on May 22 together with
single-core T40R. This processor is based on newer GV stepping than
previous generation of G-series chips, and it features 1 GHz clock
rate, 1 MB L2 cache, and very low 6.4 Watt maximum average power
consumption. In all other aspects the T40E is similar to T40N, except
that the "E" model doesn't include Turbo Core functionality.
AMD launched first five G-Series microprocessors with model numbers
G-T40N, G-T44R, G-T48N, G-T52R and G-T56N, in January 2011. Embedded
G-Series chips come with identical specifications and offer the same
level of performance as Fusion C- and E-Series mobile CPUs. This
model, G-T40N, has indistinguishable features from C-Series C-50 microprocessor, such
as two CPU cores operating at 1 GHz, integrated 280 MHz Radeon HD
6250 GPU, and 9 Watt TDP. Like the C-50, this embedded part does not
support ECC memory.
