AMD announces third generation desktop APUs
Jun 05, 2013: AMD today announced desktop Accelerated Processing Units, based on recently launched "Richland" core. New processors are A10-6800K, A10-6700, A8-6600K, A8-6500, and A6-6400K, boasting 2 or 4 "Piledriver" CPU cores, and HD 8000 series graphics. The latter is a new feature of "Richland" products, that improves graphics performance by as much as 20%. Another new feature is support for DDR3-2133 memory, although it is available only on the A10-6800K model.

AMD adds prices for "Richland" APUs
Jun 01, 2013: AMD added prices of forthcoming "Richland" processors to company's official pricelist. As you may know, "Richland" Accelerated Processing Units combine 2 or 4 Piledriver CPU cores with HD 8000 series graphics in a single package. AMD plans to release several different quad-core "Richland" parts, branded as A8- and A10-Series, along with A4- and A6-Series dual-core APUs. The fastest chips in the series are A10-6700 with 65 Watt TDP, and A10-6800K with unlocked clock multiplier and 100 Watt TDP.

Prices of upcoming AMD A-Series APUs
May 29, 2013: AMD A-series APUs with "Richland" core were previously reported to launch in June, presumably during Computex show in Taiwan. In advance of this event the company published "AMD Elite Series APUs" product summary on their website, that details upcoming lineup, performance in Basemark CL and 3DMark benchmarks, and pricing. The document also states that the microprocessors will be launched on June 4, 2013.

AMD "Richland" APUs spotted in Lenovo desktop PC
Apr 26, 2013: As we're getting closer to the launch of desktop "Richland" APUs, they started to appear in OEM desktop PCs from major manufacturers. Lenovo recently added new product pages for H535 and H535s computers to their UK website. Both computers list current generation of "Trinity" processors, along with upcoming "Richland" APUs.

AMD Richland processors to launch in March
Mar 05, 2013: AMD currently ships second-generation desktop and mobile APUs with "Trinity" core, that combines "Piledriver" microarchitecture and Radeon HD 7000 series graphics. Next generation of accelerated units will utilize Richland core with integrated graphics, upgraded to HD 8000. Richland processors were planned to launch in the first half of this year, although their announcement may come as early as the next week.

Specifications of upcoming AMD Richland APUs
Jan 26, 2013: Quite a few new details on upcoming AMD "Richland" Accelerated Processing Units have surfaced this week. First, Fudzilla posted partial specifications of A4-6300 and A6-6400K dual-core parts. It was followed by a rumor on additional A8- and A10-Series Richland APUs, that revealed their TDP and the type of integrated graphics. Finally, VR-Zone Chinese published complete Richland lineup specifications, including CPU and GPU clock speeds.
