AMD A4-4000 APU is in stores now
May 13, 2013: In March, we reported about AMD plans to release A4-4000 processor in May, that is right before the official launch of "Richland" 6000-series APUs. The A4-4000 was supposed to have new core revision, and was expected to be priced at $40. The processor recently appeared in stock in several online US shops.



AMD plans to cut processor prices, launch A4-4000 APU
Mar 22, 2013: AMD Richland APUs are scheduled to launch at the beginning of June, at about the same time as Intel Haswell desktop CPUs. According to DigiTimes, prior to the launch AMD is going to reduce prices of FX microprocessors and A-Series APUs. The prices will be dropped by 8% - 15% on the following SKUs: FX-4300, FX-6300, FX-8320 and A-Series A6-5600K. It is possible that we may see lower prices for other APUs as well.

Front view. The processor has new core stepping, but the box uses the same design as previous generation of "Trinity" APUs. The size and the contents of the box are identical to "Trinity" boxed parts.
