AMD to drop prices, launch FX-4130 CPU on August 27
Aug 24, 2012: AMD today updated A-Series, FX-Series and Phenom II pricing pages, lowering prices on full range of "Llano" APUs, and high performance K10 and "Bulldozer" CPUs. The pages shows effective date August 27, which suggests that the price drops will happen next Monday. Overall, the prices were cut by 1% - 23%.

AMD cuts prices on A-Series APUs and FX CPUs
Apr 27, 2012: A few days after announcement of Intel's Ivy Bridge micro-architecture, many news sites reported that some European retailers slashed prices of FX-8150 processors by 15% - 20%, and suggested that AMD may have dropped the prices of other processors as well. Today AMD published new pricelist, confirming price drop for the FX-8150 model. The company also cut prices of six- and quad-core FX-Series chips, and for all microprocessors from A-Series.

AMD cuts prices of Phenom II and FX CPUs
Feb 28, 2012: As you may know, AMD yesterday launched two FX microprocessors, including company's first production CPU, operating faster than 4 GHz. New product releases are usually accompanied by price drops of older models, and it wasn't an exception this time. AMD cut prices on two FX-Series models, and reduced prices for most of Phenom IIs. They also added pricing for A-Series A6-3620 and A8-3820 Accelerated Processing units (APUs).

AMD tweaks APU prices; releases Athlon II 651 CPU
Nov 15, 2011: Yesterday AMD launched server Opteron processors, based on Bulldozer micro-architecture. This event was widely covered by all hardware news sites. It is less known that yesterday AMD also changed prices of several Accelerated Processing Units (APUs), as well as the price of FX-6100 model. In addition to that, AMD introduced new Athlon II X4 651 microprocessor.

AMD introduces first "Bulldozer" FX processors
Oct 12, 2011: Today AMD launched Bulldozer micro-architecture, and first four FX desktop microprocessors. Bulldozer microarchitecture takes radically different approach than previous generation of K10 chips, and, instead of separate cores, integrates from 2 to 4 modules. Each module contains two CPU cores, that share some circuitry, such as instruction level 1 cache, Floating-Point Unit and level 2 cache.

AMD FX processors to launch on October 12
Sep 22, 2011: This quarter AMD is going to launch server-class "Interlagos" and consumer-class "Zambezi" processors, based on new Bulldozer micro-architecture. In the past two weeks three "Zambezi" FX-Series CPUs surfaced for pre-order at a few online US stores, suggesting imminent release of these models. Yesterday Donanimhaber reported that AMD FX-Series family will launch on October 12.

Bits and pieces: AMD FX-8150 at 8.43GHz, Core i7-2700K frequency confirmed
Sep 15, 2011: Earlier this week, in a press release, titled "AMD Showcases World’s Fastest CPU", AMD announced new overclocking world record. Not yet released FX-8150 processor with 6 disabled cores was overclocked to staggering 8.429 GHz by a team of overclocking specialists working together with AMD engineers. It's definitely an impressive result, and a great marketing stunt.

Pre-order prices of AMD FX-Series CPUs
Sep 11, 2011: Earlier this week AMD announced shipping of server class microprocessors, based on upcoming "Bulldozer" core. The announcement indicated that the processors will be available next quarter. The server chips were, apparently, delayed as they were expected to launch a quarter earlier. According to Xbit laboratories, high-performance FX-Series chips for consumer market were also delayed, and they will be shipped in the fourth quarter.

Gigabyte reveals AMD FX-Series specifications
Sep 02, 2011: As you may already know, later this quarter AMD is going to launch Bulldozer micro-architecture, that at first will be used in server Opteron 6200 CPUs, and desktop FX-Series microprocessors. Specifications of desktop FX-Series were known for more than a month, and they recently were confirmed by Gigabyte. As was discovered by VR-Zone, the latest CPU support list update for several Gigabyte socket AM3+ motherboards includes the details on all AMD FX-Series SKUs.
