Intel socket 775 CPUs and first AMD E-Series chips to retire in Q4
Oct 06, 2011: Yesterday Intel published several Product Change Notifications,
that notify Intel customers about upcoming product discontinuations.
Specifically, this quarter Intel will retire boxed and tray versions
of Celeron E3400, E3500 and Pentium E5700. In related news, Fuzilla
reported that AMD is going to retire two first two Brazos chips.
Intel Celeron Sandy Bridge CPUs to launch in Q3 2011
Apr 07, 2011: With the launch of Sandy Bridge micro-architecture in January of
this year, Intel is gradually updating their desktop families
beginning from the most expensive ones. The first Sandy Bridge CPUs
were introduced for Core i7 and Core i5 families, and more Core i3
SKUs were added in February. Pentium SB parts with processor numbers
G620, G620T, G840 and G850 will be available this quarter. According
to slides we've seen, Intel is going to launch three Celeron Sandy
Bridge models G440, G530 and G540 in the third quarter.
Intel unveils Core i3-560, Pentium E6800 and Celeron E3500
Aug 29, 2010: Today Intel updated price list with 3 new budget and
mid-performance desktop models - Core i3-560, Pentium E6800
and Celeron E3500. Intel also added to the price list Pentium E5700,
Atom N550 and Xeon W3670 microprocessors that were released earlier
this month. In addition to this, price of Core i7-950 microprocessor
was slashed by 48%, from $562 to $294, and the price of Xeon W3550 was
reduced from $387 to $294.
Prices for Intel desktop and mobile CPUs in Q3 2010
Jul 05, 2010: In two recent news stories, Digitimes posted updated roadmap of
Intel microprocessors for the third quarter of 2010. The roadmap
covers high-performance and budget markets of desktop and mobile CPUs.
New desktop Intel processors for the third quarter 2010
Jun 21, 2010: HKEPC Hardware compiled information about new releases and scheduled price cuts
for desktop Intel CPUs for the third quarter of this year. According
to HKEPC, on July 18 Intel will launch Core i5-760 quad-core
microprocessor, and drop price on dual-core Pentium E5500 from $75 to $64.
Intel is preparing Celeron E3500
Jun 05, 2010: New, faster version of dual-core Celeron microprocessor, Celeron
E3500, will be available later this year. The E3500 processor with
S-spec number SLGTY will run at 2.7 GHz, or less than 4% faster than
current top Celeron model.
