Intel Mobile Celeron B800 - FF8062701142600
Specifications
Intel Mobile Celeron B800 is a dual-core budget microprocessor for
entry-level notebooks. Like other B8xx-series CPUs, the B800 is built
on Sandy Bridge microarchitecture, and uses three-level cache
architecture. Each CPU core has dedicated 64 KB first level and 256 KB
second level caches. The cores share 2 MB third level cache, which is
also shared with integrated graphics processing unit (GPU). Intel B800
operates at 1.5 GHz, while the GPU has 650 MHz clock rate, boosted to
1000 MHz in Turbo mode. To access system memory, the Celeron uses
on-die dual-channel memory controller, that supports DDR3
memory with data rates up to 1333 MHz. Two other components on the
B800 chip are Direct Media Interface, which is used to communicate
with South Bridge chip and all peripherals, and PCI Express 2.0
interface.
As a budget model, Intel Celeron B800 lacks many Sandy Bridge
features, reserved for more expensive Core brands. This model has
Virtualization, but doesn't include HyperThreading, Turbo Boost or
VPro technologies. The B800 includes SSE3 and Intel 64 extensions to
instruction set, but not AES or 256-bit AVX instructions. On-chip GPU
is capable of displaying High Definition content, however it doesn't
support 3D acceleration, Quick Sync, Clear Video HD and InTru 3D
technologies.
Low-power features on the Celeron B800 are identical to those in
Sandy Bridge Pentium and Core microprocessors. The CPU has several
low-power states, used to save battery power while one or more cores
are idle. Intel B800 also supports Enhanced SpeedStep technology, that
can reduce power consumption of operational cores by slowing them
down, and lowering their core voltage. This processor has 35 Watt
Thermal Design Power, which includes power dissipated by the CPU
cores, integrated graphics and other chip components.
The Celeron B800 processor is manufactured in micro-PGA package,
compatible with socket G2. It's likely that this processor can be
upgraded to faster socket G2 CPUs. Mobile Pentiums have slightly
higher core frequency, and 50% larger size of L3 cache. Core i3s have
even higher clock speeds, and they add Hyper-Threading technology and
new AVX instructions. Core i5s and i7s have additional Turbo Boost
and Vpro technologies on top of all Core i3 features.

Intel introduces mobile CPUs: part II
Jun 21, 2011: Yesterday, Intel posted new pricelist with four new ultra-low voltage
consumer processors from Celeron, Core i3 and Core i5 families. We
used this update as a base for yesterday's story, where we reported
that more parts may surface in an official announcement, or in the
Intel ARK product database. Today, several processors were added to
the ARK database, including two new models that we hadn't covered
before. The products, added to the database, are embedded Celeron 847E
and B810E, consumer-class Celeron B800, Pentium B940 and B950, as well
as 4 CPUs, previously found in the pricelist - Celeron 847, Core
i5-2557M, Core i7-2637M and i7-2677M. Two new SKUs are Pentium 957 and
Core i5-2467M.
Intel mobile CPUs to launch in June 2011
Jun 16, 2011: In the past few months, we published several stories detailing soon
to be released Sandy Bridge mobile microprocessors. The stories
referred to budget Celeron and Pentium CPUs, mainstream Core-branded
processors for mid-class laptops, and ultra low voltage (ULV) 2nd
generation Core chips for thin and light notebooks. Using notebook
product availability dates, our sources, and information, previously
disclosed by Fudzilla, we came up with a list of processors that will
be launched this month. The list includes ULV Celeron 847, embedded
Celeron 847E and B810E, Pentium B940, embedded Core i3-2330E
and i3-2340UE, and ULV Core i5-2557M, i7-2637M and i7-2677M.
Intel Celeron B710 and B800 CPUs in Q3 2011
Jun 10, 2011: In March 2011, Intel introduced the first, and so far the only one,
mobile Celeron processor with Sandy Bridge core. From previously
published stories you may know that there are four other planned
Celeron microprocessors, ultra-low power 847, and three embedded
models, 827E, 847E and B810E. According to roadmap documents we've
seen, there will be two additional consumer class Celeron SKUs, B710
and B810, available in the third quarter 2011.
