Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 HH80557PH0564M (BX80557E6600)

Specifications

Not only the E6600 is running at higher frequency than E6300 and E6400 processors, it also has twice as large L2 cache. This processor is clocked at 2.4 GHz, which is the same as for Athlon 64 X2 4600+ CPU and lower than for Athlon 64 FX60 and FX62 CPUs. Performance-wise the E6600 is faster at this time (October 2006) than any other Athlon 64 X2 and Athlon 64 FX microprocessor.

My second serious CPU

2012-04-22 02:49:57
Posted by: Mark L

It was the best I could afford at the time. I waited for the price drop in April 2007 and this was the one to get due to the increased L2 cache over lower models.

It's still running fine in its second board in my primary computer. It still handles just about everything I can throw at it (no intensive games though!)

It still has lots of power and runs very cool. The Core 2 Duo was really a revolution.
