: Earlier this week Intel published a few Product Change
Notification (PCN) documents, detailing discontinuation of large
number of Core i5 and i7 desktop microprocessors. The list includes
all Core i7-3xxx models, specifically the i7-3770K, i7-3770S, i7-3770T and
boxed i7-3770. Retired Core i5 models include the i5-3330, i5-3330S,
i5-3340, i5-3340S, i5-3470, i5-3470S, i5-3470T, i5-3475S, i5-3550,
i5-3570, i5-3570K, i5-3570S and i5-3570T.

: First desktop Intel Core i7 and i5 processors with Ivy Bridge
(IVB) core were rolled out less than a month ago, and more of these parts will be coming in two weeks. Specifications of forthcoming
models were known for quite some time, but the prices were revealed
only last Friday. DigiTimes
reported that upcoming Core i5 microprocessors will be priced from
$184 to $205. DigiTimes also provided $177 - $138 price range for
IVB-based Core i3 chips, coming in the third quarter. We were able
to confirm this information, and we can also provide slightly more
details about prices of Ivy Bridge CPUs.
Revised Ivy Bridge launch schedule confirmed

: Ivy Bridge launch was delayed twice. First time it slipped from the
first to the second quarter 2012, and then it was delayed by another
two weeks. Current launch date for desktop Ivy Bridge CPUs is set on
April 29, which was confirmed by two different sources,
and Donanimhaber. That still left us in the dark in regards to mobile
processors, due to rumors that their launch was pushed back until June.
After seeing recent desktop and mobile roadmaps we can confirm that
both desktop and mobile IB chips will be released at the same time.
Ivy Bridge to launch on April 8

: There has been a lot of talk recently about Intel reducing prices of Sandy Bridge CPUs in the run-up to the launch of Ivy Bridge. Digitimes today (December 28 ) published details including pricing and release dates for various Ivy Bridge processors and chipsets. Initial SKUs will be released on or around April 8 2012, with a few more parts following over the following few weeks.
