Intel Core i5-650 (CM80616003174AH / BX80616I5650 / BXC80616I5650)
Specifications
First four members of desktop i5-6xx series of Core i5 microprocessors were launched on January 7 at Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas. All i5-6xx CPUs have only two cores, that is two times less than the number of cores in more powerful i5-7xx CPUs, but 6xx processors have HyperThreading feature, which allows them to execute four threads simultaneously. The slowest from the first four I5-6xx CPUs, the I5-650, is clocked at 3.2 GHz, includes 256 KB per core L2 cache, 4 MB level 3 cache shared between both cores, and, besides common nowadays 64-bit and Virtualization technologies, supports Turbo Boost Technology. Other three processors from the I5-6xx series have the same features as the i5-650 and operate at higher frequencies. Core i5-660/661 CPUs are clocked at 3.33 GHz, and i5-670 is clocked at 3.46 GHz.

News
Dec 08, 2011: In the wake of the launch of desktop Ivy Bridge microprocessors,
coming in the second quarter 2012, Intel prepares to discontinue large
number of desktop models due to low demand. In the past two days, the
company published several Product Change Notification (PCN) documents,
that notify customers of upcoming discontinuation of 19 socket 1366,
socket 1156, and socket 1155 chips. Full list of retired SKUs
includes.
May 24, 2010: Core i3-550 microprocessor was planned for the second quarter of this year. Although this model is not officially released yet, it is already available in many stores. We tested one of the processors, and compared results to other Intel Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs, as well as a few selected Athlon II and Phenom II dual-, triple- and quad-core microprocessors.
May 07, 2010: Core i7-875K and Core i5-655K are 32nm microprocessors with unlocked core multiplier that are expected next month. Both CPUs are based on enhanced Nehalem micro-architecture, and feature Turbo Boost and HyperThreading technologies.
