News

Aug 07, 2011: A few days ago, Intel published Product Change Notifications (PCN) documents, where it disclosed plans to discontinue several socket 1156 processors in 2012. Core i5-760, as well as two unlocked "K" models, Core i5-655K and Core i7-875K, will be available for order until February 24, 2012. Last week, Intel also announced discontinuation of a large number of embedded microprocessors.

Jul 19, 2010: Today Intel silently launched three high-performance Core microprocessors. New models are six-core Core i7-970, energy-efficient quad-core Core i7-870S and quad-core Core i5-760.

Jul 09, 2010: We recently posted two stories with release dates and prices for upcoming Intel desktop microprocessors. For these stories we used information originally published by HKEPC Hardware and Digitimes, and their source of data was "Motherboard makers".

Jul 05, 2010: In two recent news stories, Digitimes posted updated roadmap of Intel microprocessors for the third quarter of 2010. The roadmap covers high-performance and budget markets of desktop and mobile CPUs.

Jun 21, 2010: HKEPC Hardware compiled information about new releases and scheduled price cuts for desktop Intel CPUs for the third quarter of this year. According to HKEPC, on July 18 Intel will launch Core i5-760 quad-core microprocessor, and drop price on dual-core Pentium E5500 from $75 to $64.

May 19, 2010: Intel disclosed part numbers for Core i5-760 microprocessor, which, apparently, is planned to be released in the future. Part number for OEM processors is BV80605001908AN, and for boxed CPUs is BX80605I5760.
