Intel Core i7-820QM Mobile processor (BY80607002904AK)
Specifications
i7-8xx line of mobile Core i7 microprocessors provides superior performance than i7-7xx series by enhancing a few processor features. The 820QM and upcoming 840QM processors run one step, or 133 MHz, faster than 7xx models released at the same time. Level 3 cache on 8xx line of processors is increased to 8 MB, and Turbo Boost frequency is usually by one or two steps higher than on the i7-7xx mobile CPUs. Better performance comes at premium price, though. While this CPU in some tasks can be faster than the i7-720QM by up to 15%, it currently (June 2010) has 50% higher price the 720QM.

News
Mar 08, 2011: In one of our February's
stories we reported about Intel plans to discontinue Xeon MP
processors from 7200, 7300 and 7400 series in March of this year.
Today Intel published Product Discontinuance Notifications (PDN) for
these microprocessors. In addition to Xeon models, Intel is going to
retire several mobile Celerons and Core i7s, as well as Core
i7-980X.
