Core i7-920 in 1366-land LGA package, and Core i7-870 in 1156-land LGA package processors side by side. The I7-870 is about the same size as socket 775 processors. Contact pads on the back of the 870 are located closer to each other than contact pads on LGA775 processors. The contact pads on the I7-870 are shaped the same way as on the I7-9xx processors.

Dec 08, 2011: In the wake of the launch of desktop Ivy Bridge microprocessors, coming in the second quarter 2012, Intel prepares to discontinue large number of desktop models due to low demand. In the past two days, the company published several Product Change Notification (PCN) documents, that notify customers of upcoming discontinuation of 19 socket 1366, socket 1156, and socket 1155 chips. May 07, 2010: Core i7-875K and Core i5-655K are 32nm microprocessors with unlocked core multiplier that are expected next month. Both CPUs are based on enhanced Nehalem micro-architecture, and feature Turbo Boost and HyperThreading technologies.
