Intel Core i7-875K - BV80605001905AM / BX80605I7875K
Specifications
Core i5-875K is one of the first not overly expensive Intel non-Extreme microprocessors with unlocked clock multiplier. According to preliminary specifications, unlocked multiplier is the only difference of this CPU from Core i7-870, and in all other aspects they are nearly identical: 45nm Lynnfield core, quad-core design, 2.93 GHz core frequency, shared 8 MB level 3 cache, and the latest Intel technologies including HyperThreading and Turbo Boost. It is expected that the Core i7-875K part will be launched together with Core i5-655K in the first half of June 2010. Official price for the i7-875K is not known yet. If the only leaked pre-order price is correct, then official price will be in the range $340 - $370.

The box has updated design with gray outline, and "Unlocked" word on the gray background on the front of the box. The box does not come with the fan/heatsink, and, therefore, is very light. It is also smaller (narrower) than other Core i7 boxed processors. Inside of the box you'll find only the CPU and installation instructions, and a lot of unused space. |

Aug 07, 2011: A few days ago, Intel published Product Change Notifications
(PCN) documents, where it disclosed plans to discontinue several
socket 1156 processors in 2012. Core i5-760, as well as two unlocked
"K" models, Core i5-655K and Core i7-875K, will be available for order
until February 24, 2012. Last week, Intel also announced discontinuation of a large number
of embedded microprocessors.
Intel added pricing for new Core i3/ i5 / i7 microprocessors
Jun 01, 2010: On May 27th we posted a news story about new Intel processors
coming this quarter - Xeon X3480, Pentium Dual-Core E6700, Core
I3-550, and unlocked Core i5 I5-655K and Intel Core I7-875K CPUs. All
these models, as well as Core i7-880, were listed in today's Intel price
list.
Reviews of Core i5-655K and Core i7-875K unlocked microprocessors
May 29, 2010: Non-Disclosure Agreement for i5-655K and i7-875K processors was
lifted yesterday, May 28, and many sites posted reviews of these two
CPUs. Most of the reviewed microprocessors were engineering samples,
or, to be more exact, qualification samples.
Intel microprocessors planned for this quarter
May 27, 2010: We discovered information about new Intel desktop and server
microprocessors, planned for this quarter, in a leaked Intel document. The document lists 6 new desktop processors and one server CPU.
