National Semiconductor Geode SC1200 set-top box on a chip

National Semiconductor Geode SC1200 is a system on a chip that integrates Geode GX1 microprocessor core, memory controller, display controller, 2D graphics accelerator and the following modules:

  • Core Logic module with Audio, PCI, IDE and USB interfaces, Sub-ISA and Low Pin Count bus interfaces, power management and PC/AT logic.
  • Super I/O module with ACCESS.bus interface, parallel and serial ports, and real time clock.
  • Video Processor module with CRT, TFT and TV interfaces, and Video Input Port. In addition to the features above the SC1201 chip incorporates Macrovision copy protection.

The SC1200 system-on-a-chip was released on September 18, 2000 together with other Geode microprocessors - SC2200 and SC3200. All these microprocessors differ from each other only by video interface options. The SC1200 includes three different interfaces - CRT, TFT and TV. The SC2200 doesn't have TV interface, and the SC3200 has only TFT interface.
