Underclock/Undervolts nicely but poor HSF

Posted by: ATP

I was able to set 300Mhz at 0.6250V as its lowest performance state using K10stat so my system, monitor included now only consumes 55W at idle within Windows. The processor is great but the HSF included cannot keep the cpu temp down. I prefer 40-45 degrees C but I was getting 50+ degrees just to boot into Windows so I had to replace it with a copper one. I also had to reduce Vcore to 1.2V instead of the default 1.4V. AMD should have included an HSF with copper/heatpipes for it.

dear cpu world, i'm trying to conpare many cpus at once and 1 bite of info. that is needed is clock speed. Clock speed is someting pepeol look for and should be shown in genral info. for all to see. but, thank you for all the other things you tell us that many sites dont mention.

Response: Technically, "Clock speed" is not a correct term, even though it is widely used everywhere. We list it as "Frequency".
