News
Sep 27, 2010: Earlier this week, on September 21, AMD unveiled 10 new desktop
microprocessors. New models included 6 standard-power CPUs, one
ultra-low voltage processor, and three energy-efficient "e" models. We
just found out that, on top of adding new microprocessors to Athlon II
and Phenom II families, AMD also cut prices on energy efficient parts.
We also learned prices of recently introduced "e" models.
Jun 30, 2010: On May 10 AMD refreshed their full line of Athlon II microprocessors,
adding new standard- and low-power dual, triple and quad-core
models. Standard power processors, X2 260, X3 445 and X4 640, appeared
in stores in a week or two. Low power microprocessors, namely X2 245e,
X3 415e and X4 610e, are still not available in US stores despite the
fact that they were introduced more than a month and half ago.
May 11, 2010: Today AMD introduced six new Athlon II microprocessors. These include 45 Watt low power dual-, triple- and quad-core Athlon IIs, 65 Watt standard power Athlon II X2s, and 95 Watt standard power triple- and quad-core Athlon II CPUs.
May 07, 2010: We posted news today regarding pre-order prices for upcoming Intel Core i5-655K and Core i7-875K microprocessors. But it gets even better. We just discovered that forthcoming Athlon II processors are also available for pre-order on Provantage website.
Mar 24, 2010: This quarter AMD released only three Athlon II-branded models, dual-core 255 (3.1 GHz), triple-core 440 (3 GHz) and quad-core 635 (2.9 GHz), and two new quad-core Phenom II models - 555 and 910e. Second quarter should be much more interesting as we will see six-core Phenoms (posted earlier this month), and many new Athlon II models.
