News
Details on AMD Athlon II X2 processors with C3 revision
Jun 04, 2010: First, the good news. Not only the lately released Athlon II
microprocessors are available for sale now, but boxed versions of
older Athlon II X3 and Athlon II X4 CPUs with C3 core revision have
finally made it into stores. NewEgg currently sells three older models
with C3 core...
Unlocking fourth core on Athlon II X3 revision C3 CPUs
Apr 15, 2010: First triple-core Athlon IIs were rebranded Phenom II X4 Deneb processors with L3 cache and one core disabled. Computer enthusiasts quickly learned that the cache and/or the core could be re-enabled by setting "Advanced Clock Calibration" feature in BIOS to "auto". Once Athlon II X3 line of processors switched to native Rana core, which was nothing less than Athlon II quad-core "Propus" core with one core disabled, the same trick could be used to unlock the disabled fourth core.
Upcoming Athlon II C3-revision CPUs - now with pictures
Apr 02, 2010: We recently posted information on nine upcoming Athlon II microprocessors with C3 core revision. We now have all of these processors ready for benchmarking, and, since benchmark results will be ready only next week, we decided to show some Athlon II Pictures for now.
Athlon II C3-revision CPUs added
Mar 28, 2010: We posted specifications for dual-, triple- and quad-core Athlon II processors with newer C3 core revision.
