New revision of the box, that essentially stayed the same with the exception of part number / model / serial number labels. The box itself doesn't have any information, that identifies included Athlon II CPU, and all CPU-specific information is now on the seal. The seal has the following: UPC code, AMD hologram, model number, brief specifications, box part number, and processor's serial number.

News

May 03, 2011: As you may already know, today AMD launched Phenom II X4 980 flagship model, as well as a few desktop processors from Athlon II and Phenom II families. At the same time, AMD dropped prices on existing desktop CPUs. As a matter of fact, every Athlon II and Phenom II desktop model was reduced in price on average by 11.6%.

May 11, 2010: Today AMD introduced six new Athlon II microprocessors. These include 45 Watt low power dual-, triple- and quad-core Athlon IIs, 65 Watt standard power Athlon II X2s, and 95 Watt standard power triple- and quad-core Athlon II CPUs.

May 07, 2010: We posted news today regarding pre-order prices for upcoming Intel Core i5-655K and Core i7-875K microprocessors. But it gets even better. We just discovered that forthcoming Athlon II processors are also available for pre-order on Provantage website.

One of the best bang for buck!

I purchased this processor for my gaming system on a tight budget. It was only $99 but performs like it cost WAY more! The lack of an L3 cache (compared to the identical Phenom II line with the L3 being the only difference) really doesn't compromise the performance very much at all, I wouldn't even notice it in daily use. As for gaming, I couldn't be happier for only $99!

Not best choice

The processor sole core performance is dispointed than core i3 2100.It's obvious when I use the CPU-Z.
