AMD Phenom II X2 521: yet another re-branded Athlon II CPU
Jun 17, 2011: In January, AMD released two Phenom II microprocessors, that were
in fact top of the line Athlon II models, re-branded as Phenoms. One
of them, Phenom II 840, was announced at the beginning of January, and
that CPU had exactly the same specifications as never released
quad-core Athlon II 650. Another Phenom II part, OEM-only dual-core
511, was sighted in HP Pavilion Slimline s5700 desktop PC. The specs
of this processor were identical to Athlon II X2 270, that was not
launched at that time. In the past couple of weeks, we acquired new
Phenom II chip with part number HDX521OCK23GM. In the meantime, our
site visitor "dnlbntl" discovered new Phenom II 521 model in HP
Pavilion p7z desktop desktop PC, and commented on it on our Athlon
II 275 CPU page.
