AMD Sempron 130 CPU: the last of the Sempron line?
Jun 23, 2011: Since its introduction in 2004, AMD Sempron family of budget
microprocessors went though three different microarchitecture
generations. The last generation of this family,
introduced in July 2009, used K10 / "Stars" core. Up until this May,
this generation was comprised of 3 single-core and one dual-core SKUs.
Earlier last month, new AMD Sempron 130 processor surfaced in
inexpensive computers, sold in Latin America. By the end of May,
NewEgg started selling tray version of this model in US for $29.99, or
$8 cheaper than boxed Sempron 140.
