This chip is still compareable to some of todays single core. I have a AX2000DMT3C running from 1.800-1.820ghz over clocked with soltek onboard red storm, more relieable than a celeron/P4 equivelant

XP1800+ to XP2000+

I just change my XP1800+ "AX1800DMT3C" for this 2000+ "AX2000DMT3C" in my ECS K7S5A.
Not a big performances gain but it heats up more, a changement of an XP1800+ to an XP2000+ should be efficient only for a gaming use and anyway what's represent an XP2000+ for a gamer today !!?
In conclusion, a very good CPU at his time.

HI I HAVE HTE SAME PROCESSOR

Highest Athlon XP for ECS?

Hi, I recently fried this exact CPU (AX2000DMT3C, stepping AGOIA) in my ECS K7S5A. I believe the fan was failing and I didn't catch it, so the CPU burned up. Before I replace it, I was wondering how high I can go in the ECS K7S5A. Is Athlon XP 2000 the best I can do?

Response: It depends on the PCB version of your board: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/cgi-bin/SearchSite.pl?SEARCH=K7S5A&PROCESS=Search

Hi! I have a MS-6378 and I'm thinking of buying this processor. Is this a good idea? I mean this board supports it?

Response: If PCB version of your board is 2 or 3 then this CPU is supported: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-MSI/MS-6378.html

my 2000+ seems to be running at 66 degrees C whilst idle and 72 degrees under full load is this ok?

Response: It seems very high. Many systems crash at 72 degrees. Please post the question in the forum.

I tried to intall this chiop ito a KinetiZ 7E (apollo KT133A) motherboard. I first set the core voltage and multiplier to auto and it did not want to know about it it didnt even do any beeps. I set the Multiplier to 12.5x core V to 1.75 manually(jumpers) and the overclocker to 133 and it seems to work OK!

Setting to 2000mz

On the motherboard there will be a jumper that sets the "FSB" to 200/266/333.
This CPU should be set at "266"
It will show as 2000mz at bootup.

hiya guys:) you seem to have good experience with the amd athlon xp 2000+ processor. well i got one to and it runs ok only problem i got i cant get it to run at 1667MHZ i got a new msi moo that supports athlon duron sempron etc. 512m ddr fs set at 133 cpu ratio at 12,5
ut it still won,t run at 1667MHZ. anybody got an idea what im doin wrong? plz help me! :desperate athlon 2000 lover haha:)

Response: It seems that you're ruinning your processor at 100 MHz FSB. Try to set FSB manually in BIOS to 133, or update your BIOS.

i've had this processor since it was out and preinstalled in a desktop. i've never been let down by this chip unless i'm playing The Sims, but it seems all computers have a problem running The Sims. Anyway, this is one heck of a processor. the only problem is, i've never tried to OC it so i don't know how well it will work once i OC it. probably very well, if the new fan cools it correctly.

I've had a atholon 2000 xp since launch. it has proven itself as a reliable workhorse for years and with only minor upgrades in ram, and a mother board with a serial ata, and a ati 9700pro I can still run the latest and greatest. A solid and reliable Processor if you know what you doing.

Well, I had this chip, and I had a very wierd.. and disheartening experience with it;...

AT first.. I made a mistake, I used an multiplier of 7.5 x 133 thinking that I would effectively be acheiving 7.5 x 266 = 2000MHZ.
I was wrong, its actually 133x12.5. I'm wondering if thats what damaged it.. but the ABR kicked in ..so I dont know.
Then I used the correct settings, the ABR still kicked in, VERY wierd, I disabled the ABR.. and I smelt like the chip burned.
This is very strange and dissapointing for me. I never got to use this chip.
