Athlon XP 2400+ is not the fastest CPU with Thoroughbred core, but it is still a good choice to consider if your motherboard doesn't support Barton and Thorton cores. The primary reason for this is that at this moment (May 2006) the fastest Athlon XP rated 2600 MHz is difficult to find, and it's way overpriced. As its rating suggests the Athlon XP 2400 on average is on par with Pentium 4 2.4 GHZ (depends on application), and only 5% or less slower than Athlon XP 2600+.

I have managed to boot at 190 MHz FSB but with a low multiplier and the CPU was not stable at games. The maximum stable state is with FSB=185 MHz, Vcore=1.75 Volt and multiplier=12. I recommend it for everyday use.
I now use FSB=166, Vcore=1.65(default), and multiplier=13 and it is solid rock!

This processor does not work. Probably, it has not passed factory check on serviceability. On it of only 4 closed crosspieces (a pressure{voltage} and FSB).

i ran this cpu with 15 x 133; 13 x 166, 10 x 200 and 11 x 200 (sometimes not stable)which is at least compareable to a barton 3200+ (only the L2 cache is lower)

mine was AXDA2400DKV3C JIUHB.
133x15, 200x10, 200x10.5, 200x11 all on air, no extra voltage required. Unfortunately after 5 yrs @ 200, it died.

They seem to die with some regularity

I just bought one of these from ebay for $8 and its still in its original plastic carrier! It appears to have never been used and I just dropped it in my PC to replace my xp2000+ and it works like a charm!

Got on NEW back in 2003 and is still running in my PC Like a Boss. It is a stong CPU that is lasting me forever and is now running a windows 7 computer good; with 2 GB RAM and a 128 mb AGP video card. Love this Little CPU and all it can do.

Yeah. I still have this CPU in my old Computer with OS - XP Proffesioanl SP3, its 9 year old but it is doing well. This processor is indestructible. However, Sandy Bridge i7 2600K in my notebook is better :P

I have had one of these new since 2003 in my hp pavilion 325c and it has been running great for over 10 years. I upgraded the video card a couple times but it still keeps on doing what I need to do including game up to 05-06 or better.

I bought another dual core pc for newer games but still use the 2400+ to dual boot Win98/XP and play games and apps from 95-05 with plenty of speed.

De 15 x 133 = 2Ghz@1,6volt
Para 17 x 138 = 2,35Ghz@1.8volt
Se eu mudasse para 139 ou baixasse para 1.775volt o sistema não liga hehehehe
Ficou estável, fiz testes com o Winrar, ficou 100% por 2 minutos, sem variar as tensões da fonte, que era uma Fonte Pauta genérica, mas aguentou...
