Is the multiplier on this cpu locked?

Response: Multipliers on these CPUs are usually locked

A Gem of a CPU

I got one of these, and a socket A board from a friend for basically nothing, and cranked the FSB up to 400 for an AthlonXP 3200+... it's been running for months at 2.2ghz without failure with basic cooling.

Difference between this and amd sempron 2600+

Posted by: nick

Are these the same as the Sempron 2600+, they have the same bus speed and clock speed, do you know of any other differences?
Thanks

Response: This Athlon XP 2500+ has twice as much L2 cache as the Sempron 2600+. It also has slightly higher core voltage and power consump

Great CPU

Running at 3200+ specs for last 2 years at 7.0V.
200 fsb x 11 = 2200 mhz @ 7.0V. 48c degrees.
Runs fine @ 200 fsb x 12 = 2400 mhz @ 7.5V.
Runs fine @ 200 fsb x 13 = 2600 mhz @ 8.0V.

Awsome cpu for $100 new in 2004.
Multiplier was unlocked when purchased.
5 years of clocking up. last 2 years @ 3200+ specs @ 7.0 V !!!! ROCK SOLID CHIP!

RAM

I got one in 2004 and A-bit NF7-S. I usually ran at 2500 with original cooler, since i didn't notice much difference at 3200. that 7.0V is for what voltage? they run at 1.6 V, 3200 would go to 1.8V.

Sadly, now my laptop died and i'm reassembling this one, but only have 2x256MB Ram Kingston ValueRam DDR PC3200 which by today's standards is very little, and DDR memory is insanely expensive. I've been looking for some decent ram to push it but so far no luck.

Good Job for my AMD Athlon 2500+

I been using it almost 6 years. Still didn't create any problem for me. Nice processes!!!

Most stable CPU ever

Posted by: Gage

well, been running @ 2.3 GHz for about 2 months now, from 1.8 GHz, stable as anything, OC'ed a 2.2 GHZ (3700+) A64 to 2.3 GHz and it was unstable.

Runs Fine at 2.3 GHz
(Performance rated at 3.4 GHz)

Basically an AMD Athlon XP 3400+ even though that CPU dont exist, thats basically what this is :D
