XP 2600+ Upgrade

2007-06-07 11:20:13
Posted by: dew

I'm running a XP2000+ on a KM400-M2 board. Just wondered if it would be possible to upgrade to XP 2600+ AXDA2600DKV4D Barton? Also would it be a worthwhile upgrade?
Would the existing heatsink and fan be ok?
many thanks.

Response: Your board supports faster Bartons, so the 2600+ Barton should be supported too. Please post other questions in the forum.

Supported on MSI KM4M-L motherboard??

2007-05-02 06:20:34
Posted by: Sander

Hi,
The MSI website list of CPU support for my board (KM4M-L) indicates support for Barton core AthlonXP 2500+, 2800+, 3000+ and 3200+. Why not this CPU (Barton 2600+)?

Many thanks

Response: Probably it was not tested by MSI. If Barton 2500+ and 3000+ CPUs are supported then the 2600+ should work too.

WIRING PATTERNS ON CPU

2007-04-19 07:43:46
Posted by: scotty

why some AMD CPUs have them and some just have those "dotted" pattern? are those wiring pattern due to overclocking or they were made to look different? (seems like the faster Athlon XPs have these wiring pattern)

would this work....

would this work with a
A7V33 Asus Motherboard?

Response: It would work if PCB version of your board is 1017.

CPU 1800+ ----> 2600+

Posted by: Fox

Hi, I have an AMD 1800+ on a motherboard Asus A7V333. How much of a difference will I notice upgrading to this 2600+?? Can I use this cpu?
If not what is the best upgrade for me?

Thanks :-)

Response: The 2600+ will work. The fastest for you is Athlon XP 3000+/333 FSB. 2600+ will be up to 40% faster, o rabout 15% - 25% in games
