this is a good CPU but if you have a PCchips M848A v5.0
motherboard then you have a f***ing problem because
that motherboard sees the cpu as a A 1500+
it doesn`t even recocgnizes athlon i use a 3000+
Athlon XP Barton model 10 but this mainboard just
beeps and doesn`t give a signal to the screen
end on the site of the manufactor you can read that
the M848A does support the 2700+ and 3000+ CPU`s
end there arend even BIOS updates for the mainbord
don`t buy this motherboard but take a Asrock K7VT4A PRO

You need to reset your bios. Pull the jumper pin and allow it to reboot. Then press the delete key to allow the bios to reset.

I have my doubts why Athlon's 2700 would have a faster frequency than the 2800. Is CPU World the only source of this fact?

Response: AXDA2800DKV4C / AXDA2800DKV4D have twice larger L2 cache, and they don't need to run faster to get the same 2800+ performance rating. AXDA2800DKV3D with the same L2 cache size as this Athlon XP 2700+ runs at higher frequency.
