I have used the AMD Athlon XP 2900 processor a few years now in my primary desktop machine and it has operated flawlessly. It is in a DFI motherboard with an ATI 9800 video card and 1gb of memory. I have enjoyed the system over the years. It was one of the best investments I've made in a long time.

Is my AMD Athlon XP 2900+ Processor a "Legitimate AMD Processor",or a Knock Off one???

I just bought a Used AMD Athlon XP 2900+ Processor from a seller on-e-Bay,for what I believe is a "Very Reasonable Price", but now that I have been reading through all of these statements from other people who have these Processors,i'm now starting to wonder if this CPU maybe one of the FAUX or Knock Off Ones that I am hearing about? Here is the Model # which is listed for it. AXDA2900DUV4C . Can someone check into this for me and let me know if this CPU is Legitimate,or a faux one for me? You can reach me at this E-Link: mrevans@sbcglobal.net .Thanks.James in Clovis CA..

Response: I can't tell for sure whether it's fake or not without seeing the picture of the CPU. There is a big chance it's a fake.

Hello again. This is James in Clovis CA. again and I just wanted to do a Follow Up on what I Posted here back in I believe Late May or Early June of this year-2008 regarding the AMD Athlon XP 2900+CPU that I Bought off e-Bay.That particular CPU was apparently Non-Functioning which means I Bought a DOA CPU from a Dis-Reputible Seller on e-Bay but I just Took Another Chance and I Bought another AMD Athlon XP 2900 CPU from another e-Bay Seller who had Nothing but Grade A+ Feedback from his/her e-Bayers and this AMD Athlon XP 2900+CPU is Apparently in Great Physical and Mechanical Condition because it is Powering my Computer as I Type this letter to you.:-) Here is what the System-Computer Setting in the Control Panel Shows for this CPU:AMD Athlon(tm)XP 2900+ 200Ghz,200 GB of RAM.This CPU is a 400GHz FSB Athlon(200GHz x 2)XP 2900+Processor.I Got Lucky this time and I am Pretty Darn Happy.:-)This is the Fastest CPU that has worked in my Jetway V880DAS Socket A-462 Pin Motherboard and I'm a Happy Man for it.;-) Cheers.James in CLovis CA.USA.
