I think I lost my 1.3 Duron end of January too! Was trying to reload a new Linux OS distro and machine locks up. Tried other distro and other non-OS specific utilities (Memtest86). Still locks up. I left my machine running the CPU/Mobo temps within the BIOS. Maybe that'll tell me what temp the CPU locked at. I'm going to reapply thermal grease and see where that gets me.

Up in smoke

Was very stable up until last night...when it turned itself into a hot plate. PS and mobo survived the ordeal.

Agree with first comment , very reliable for 6 years.
Awaiting arrival for my A7M266 of an 1800 Palamino and A 2100 Palamino, 1800 for backup. For 75 dollars for the 2 with good buyrer support it seems like a fairly fair deal.
Think I will see a performance difference from the Duron?

Thanks

Nice chip for a starter PC. Runs reliably does the job and doesn't gice any trouble. Used one myself for years before I was donated some better processors from friends.

Highly recommended to anyone thinking of using this in their first PC.
