138x7 rock stable on a ECS K7S5A at 1.86V. Hot as hell but working all right. Max I got was FSB 143 but SuperPI would show errors. Shame I couldnt change the multiplier on the K7S5A, even on a honey-x unofficial bios

How about underclocking

I would like to underclock this processor to 500MHz to get it running with lower temperature (so that I can throw away the cooler fan). Need to re-bridge it? It pretty damn hard to find cheap and right tools for cutting the connection between L1-L7 bridges. Any suggestions?

Response: If I'm not mistaken Durons are not locked for underclocking. They can be underclocked by changing clock multiplier in BIOS.

i unlocked my cpu by connecting the l1 bridges
and now i overclocked it to 1300MHz
on a Vcore of 1.9 instead of 1.6
i use watercooling so int wont go
higher as 25 degrees with 2 GB of RAM
on a K7vt4a pro from asrock
only higher the fsb not the multi plier

Hey!
I made it! I overclock my duron 700 to 997 mhz and it STABLE! I move Multypl. to 9,5 and FSB to 105. Then move voltage to 1,80! I work over an hour like this and tempreture is 48 (celsius). My MB is Asus. I'cant reach more MHz by FSB, because my old HD (2GB) stops working. When i change it with new one i will go FAR :))

Hhahaha - I got it- 950mhz with asus motherboard (A7V). System is fully stable (after few tests) and runs very fast! The key is in motherboard!!!

neat little chip

I got one of these for free from the computer store i worked at, and i have fun playing with it =]

got it to 850mhz seemingly stable after unlocking teh multi (gap the L1 bridges).

I've heard of people getting higher, but for some reason i cant get past there, the bios just gets all flashy and pretty colors come up when i try to hit 900 = ....i know its not the ram, i ran it at pc133 speeds stable, and i know its not the temp because at like 850mhz it wasnt going above like 40-45C even with load (unless the actual die temp is like 40C higher?)...dunno if its just the board or what.
