Its the mobile idle mode 'issue'
Your motherboard doesnt see the load
mode multiplier. I have seen how to
overcome this, but cant remember how or
where. Try forum.

Not a home PC cpu

It's a mobile processor that IS NOT supported by many motherboards. Unless you can manually adjust multipliers don't get this. I know it came as a pkg w/ Biostar KM400 boards & is supported by some ECS boards. I have/had it working in older MSI's & an Asus board but it's a struggle to configure.

I have had the same problem, only being able to get 800MHz when placed into a desktop motherboard. I have an old MSI which supports all 133MHz FSB Athlon processor except this one, because it's designed for laptop use. Using an overclocking method I'm now running at 2.2GHz 133MHz FSB. You have to place fine wires in the ZIF socket to link pins on the processor to force the multiplier up to x17 from x6. A single strand from a multicore wire works well. Shape the wire into a u-shape the same width and length of the processor pins. Google How to clock Athlon XP to find more help.

It rocks! On this old workhorse with an honeyx BIOS it's perfectly working with 1,6V and 143Mhz x 15=2145 and shown as 2600+.

Without any hassle or modifikation apart from the BIOS update.

Thanks to HoneyX for the great BIOS!
