Socket 939 processors were sold in the same size boxes as socket 754 processors. The boxes were made of sturdy carton, and were 50% larger and about 40% heavier than boxed socket AM2 processors.

The CPU was manufactured 2 and half months after introduction of dual-core Athlon 64 microprocessors. Notice that the processor is marked as "Athlon 64". In the second half of 2006 AMD started marking these processors as "Athlon 64 X2".
