Hey Guys...
Im coming with you :-)

Here is my Athlon64 X2 6000+, this one is very oldschool.
I remember the Time where he did his great Job without any bigger epic fail. Then one day he lost his job because of Systems who where more efficient, energy-saving and more powerful as this power hog. But he was an good boy as long as he could :-D

AMD X2 6000+ CPU

This will apparently be the last processor AMD will release before the Barcelona core.

Be careful what power supply you use with this guy. I started with a CoolMaster 600 Watt supply and was tearing my hair out because with an MSI K9N Neo V3 motherboard it worked UNTIL I added the disk drives then things got "Flakey". I went through different memory modules and disconnected drives and it SOMETIMES worked, others not. I then changed out for a 520 Watt modular Power Master and it worked fine. This was with an NVIDIA 8600GT video card. Also there is something wrong with the MP5/PCI-E auto setting (at least on the MSI MB). Doing it manually works fine. I now find the system roughly 4 times as fast as an ATHLON-XP 3000+ (32 Bit) for EXCEL (It looks like the background recalculation happens on the "second" processor) and some games (Galactic Civilization II).

Mine is working for several months now with a Chieftec 550W PSU and everything run great. Also have an ATI HD2900XT... I'm sure your PSU was just faulty.

Been running mine for more than a year (since 20 March '08). Works fine. Running with a nVidia 9800GT and 2x Seagate Sata2 Drives. Use a 470W Gigabyte PSU (Model No. GE-P470A-C2). Occasionally connect a third drive, either SATA or ATA, to scan for virus infection. Never had any trouble.
