I have to say I was pleased to find out it was a dual core. I got the laptop as a Father's Day gift last year and I let it sit for months before I even opened the box. How dumb was that now I think back. I'm still excited to turn it on or wake it from sleep each time I need quick access to the net or to run an app. I have it in an HP laptop. The battery life is fine when I have to take it to a board meeting and use for 2 1/2 hours on average. I recommend this to anyone. Intel Celeron 430 is faster...2009-12-23 09:12:54 Posted by: deepCoder Celeron 430 is faster. One can read off also from the Banchmarks. AMD could not do anything, can nothing and it will in such a way remain. CPUs from East Germany (Dresden) are something for the garbage pail. true2010-05-04 14:27:20 Posted by: fodor tamas krisztian i have the same in my laptop , and what so ever i am running Win 7 now and also x1270 2 gig of ram ultimate 64 bit , i agree this cpu is just great , for everything i do gaming not a whole lot , but after i`ll got the 3dmark05 version pro , might try to do a preset fro higher performance ... not sure how much can it do for me or for my ati x1270 but based on the truth , it will give a better preset 2010-07-29 09:26:00 Posted by: getdealtwith Other sources like chiplist.com say this specific G2 Revision of the 2Ghz Tyler is a 31 Watts just like the G1 Revision TMDTL60HAX5DC. This is kinda important if you are looking for an upgrade in a notebook with critical Heatsink and want to avoid going up the Watts-ladder. What is true? Response: I don't think that AMD published specs for TL60 with G2 core, so 31W for G2 is an assumption that G2 has the same TDP as G1. We play it safe and show 35W. Upgrade for an Acer Aspire AS55342010-12-30 18:03:58 Posted by: Dan Jenson I bought/sold some Acer Aspire-AS5534-1096 notebooks that came standard with the AMD Athlon 64 x2 L310 1.2GHz/1MB L2cache processor. Temperature issues2012-03-01 17:06:18 Posted by: Ondrej I have MSI MegaBook with Turion X2 TL-58 and since beginning I had to restrict max. frequency to prevent notebook from shuting down due to overheating. Later on I found that ventilation holes in caing were poorly manufactured, having metal shielding cuts being to narrow and just folded than cut out. So i cut them out using metal cutter and since then no more problem, also fan runs almost unhearable most of the time. Runs hot2012-12-20 20:23:52 Posted by: Bill_in_Mi I have an old laptop that came with a TMDTL60HAX5DM and would overheat and shutdown. Just upgraded to a TMDTL60HAX5DC I found for $5 on the internet (usng it now). The new processor runs 15-20 degrees C cooler than the old one. Also, use a good heat sink paste, it makes a big difference. Be sure to keep it clean with 99% rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs.
