AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology microprocessor

Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology is a family of dual-core mobile microprocessors. The dual-core Turion processors are based on K8 architecture and have 128 KB level 1 cache, from 512 KB to 1 MB level 2 cache, dual-channel DDR2 memory controller and one hyper-transport link. All microprocessors in the Turion 64 X2 family work with socket S1. Like single-core Turion processors, the Turion 64 X2 CPUs include Deeper Sleep power-saving mode. In addition to that dual-core Turions have lower core voltage than Turion 64 processors, and, despite the fact that they have two CPU cores on one die, their power requirements are not significantly higher than power requirements of single-core Turions.

Model numbers of Turion 64 X2 microprocessors are similar to model numbers of single-core Turion 64 CPUs. The model number consists of two letters and two digits. The first letter 'T' identifies dual-core Turion processors. The second letter specifies power requirements for the processor - more energy efficient CPUs have letters closer to Z, less energy efficient CPUs have letters closer to A. Two digits in the model number specify performance relative to other Turion 64 X2 microprocessors - faster processors have higher two-digit number. Please note that, unlike for Athlon 64 and Athlon 64 X2 processors, Turion model numbers cannot be used to compare performance of a dual-core Turion CPU with a performance of single-core microprocessor.
