Intel releases Celeron N2830, more Bay Trail-M chips are on the way
Feb 23, 2014: Two weeks ago Intel discontinued large number of desktop and mobile systems on a chip (SoC), based on "Bay Trail" core. Bay Trail chips were launched last September, and they featured such improvements as out of order microarchitecture, increased number of cores, higher clock speeds and new graphics unit. The second wave of Bay Trail products, released last November, also had Burst technology enabled. Most of these processors have been retired in a matter of months.

Intel discontinues Bay Trail and mobile Core i7 CPUs
Feb 06, 2014: Last September Intel released budget Bay Trail systems on a chip for mobile and desktop markets, branded as Celeron and Pentium. The processors were manufactured on 22nm technology, and featured such enhancements as greater number of CPU cores, higher clock speeds, beefed up graphics unit, not to mention an out-of-order microarchitecture, that improved per-clock CPU performance by up to 30% compared to their predecessors. The first wave of Bay Trail SKUs was followed in November by Burst-enabled models, that offered even higher operating frequencies.

Intel refreshes Bay Trail-M CPU lineup
Nov 09, 2013: In September Intel launched the latest generation of "Bay Trail-M" ultra low voltage processors for netbooks and mobile devices. New mobile CPUs, branded this time as Celeron and Pentium, offered up to 2x times better CPU performance, and up to 3x time faster graphics, while operating in the same power envelope as their "Cedar Trail" predecessors. As if those improvements were not enough, Intel this week refreshed Bay Trail-M lineup, releasing faster versions of Celeron and Pentium products.
