I bought that one in January 2004.
And it is still working hard!

1 core, 2 thread

this is the Pentium 4 HT. A 1 core, 2 thread, 32-bit processor.

I don't see that information on the page.

I have been mistakenly told in a computer recycling store that it is a dual-core processor. it is not. I think microsoft windows chooses to interpret intel's thread handling as a separate processor.

Response: It's all on the page. All Pentium 4s have 1 core. Also, the page says: Data width 32 bit, Features ... Hyper Threading Technology. I will update this and other Pentium 4 pages to say specifically the number of cores and threads.

My first serious CPU

I did my research and paired it with an i875 board for dual-channel DDR memory. I spared no expense at the time.

It served me well for a number of years. Then one day I think the board died (the ICH5R Southbridges were finnicky), I tried a replacement CPU off eBay with no luck so I sold it plus the replacement CPU. I scrapped the board because there were no replacement S478 boards available.

It was a very powerful processor at the time, especially paired with dual-channel DDR400. It did run hot though.
