Oct 06, 2011: Yesterday Intel published several Product Change Notifications,
that notify Intel customers about upcoming product discontinuations.
Specifically, this quarter Intel will retire boxed and tray versions
of Celeron E3400, E3500 and Pentium E5700. In related news, Fuzilla
reported that AMD is going to retire two first two Brazos chips.
Oct 17, 2010: Intel's price list was updated today with new prices for a few
desktop and mobile microprocessors. Official Intel price was dropped
for Core i3-550, Pentium E5700 and Pentium E6700 CPUs by 13 - 15%. The
price of dual-core Celeron E3400 CPU was slashed by 21%. Two LV and
ULV Core i7 mobile microprocessors, i7-640LM and i7-660UM,
got cheaper by 6% and 9% respectively.
Aug 10, 2010: In June HKEPC Hardware website published release dates and prices of
new Intel microprocessors coming in the third quarter. According to
their story, Pentium E5700 was scheduled for August 8 release. Today
Intel added the Pentium E5700 to ARK processor database with status
"Launched".
Jul 05, 2010: In two recent news stories, Digitimes posted updated roadmap of
Intel microprocessors for the third quarter of 2010. The roadmap
covers high-performance and budget markets of desktop and mobile CPUs.
Jun 21, 2010: HKEPC Hardware compiled information about new releases and scheduled price cuts
for desktop Intel CPUs for the third quarter of this year. According
to HKEPC, on July 18 Intel will launch Core i5-760 quad-core
microprocessor, and drop price on dual-core Pentium E5500 from $75 to $64.
May 29, 2010: Intel posted part numbers for two future Pentium dual-core
microprocessors - E6800 and E5700. Both processors are based on older
45nm Wolfdale-3M core, and they will be produced in socket
775-compatible package.
