Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5800 AT80571PG0882ML (BX80571E5800)
Specifications
As of September 2010, Pentium E5800 is the last in series of
Pentium-branded dual-core CPUs with 800 MHz Front Side Bus
frequency. First references to this CPU appeared in September 2010,
when Intel published processor's S-Spec and part numbers. According to
preliminary specifications, the E5800 is based on Wolfdale-3M core,
and has two cores with dedicated L1 caches, and 2 MB L2 shared between
cores. The CPU utilizes Front Side Bus (FSB) interface to access
memory and talk to peripheral devices. The FSB is clocked at 200 MHz,
but, since the processor can transfer data 4 times during each bus
clock, effective bus frequency is 800 MHz. Pentium E5800 operates at
3.2 GHz, and it's going to be the fastest Core-based microprocessor
with 800 MHz FSB after official launch. The Pentium includes basic
set of features - ability to run 64-bit programs and operating
systems, protect data memory with the help of Execute Disable Bit
feature, and use Virtualization technology to accelerate execution of
applications and operating systems in virtual environments. The CPU
fits 65 Watt thermal envelope, and works in socket 775 motherboards.
The Pentium E5800 will be offered in both OEM and boxed versions.
