: Intel this week released Xeon E5-1600 v2 and E5-2600 v2
microprocessors for single- and dual-socket systems. New Xeon CPUs are
built on more optimized and energy efficient 22nm Ivy Bridge-EP
microarchitecture, and feature up to 50% more cores and up to 25% more cache at
the same power envelope as previous generation of Xeon E5
products. Additionally, the processors incorporate Digital Random
Number Generator, new Float 16 instructions, and have higher memory
bandwidth due to added support for DDR3-1866 memory.

: Sometime this quarter Intel is going to launch second generation
Xeon E5 processors for dual-socket systems, dubbed as E5-2600 v2.
Partial specifications of these Ivy Bridge-EP based microprocessors
were found in June in a CPU support list on ASRock's website. Since
then some details of Xeon E5 products
on Mouser Electronics website, and very recently
we spotted more details
in PCConnection web store. Although none of these sources have complete
specifications, we merged them together, and present the results below.

: In this and the next two quarters, Intel is going to release
single-, dual- and quad-socket server processors built on Ivy Bridge
microarchitecture. The first CPUs to launch are Xeon E-2600 v2 and
E5-1600 v2, that will be available in Q3 2013. In the past, we
published common features present on many Xeon E5 series
CPUs for socket LGA2011, but we did not know exact SKU lineup.
Luckily, earlier this month
found some details of E5 SKUs in ASRock's CPU support list.
