Mar 05, 2013: Intel today announced discontinuation of all Xeon 3500- and 3600- series processors for one-way workstations. Xeon 3500 series was built on Nehalem microarchitecture, had up to 4 cores, and supported Hyper-Threading and Turbo Boost technologies. Xeon 36xx microprocessors used Westmere (enhanced Nehalem) architecture, and they added 2 CPU cores, larger L3 cache and support for AES instructions.
