Intel discontinues Xeon and Atom processors
Jun 05, 2012: Intel today announced discontinuation of large number of Atom and
Xeon microprocessors. By the end of this year, the company is going to
retire 45nm Atom CPUs with "Pineview" core. Furthermore, Intel will
discontinue Xeon 3400-series chips for single-socket workstations,
and Xeon MPs from 6500 and 7500 series. Most of End-of-Lifed microprocessors
were introduced in the second half of 2009 and the first half of
2010.
