AMD A4-5300
  • The A4-5300 incorporates SSSE3, SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 instructions.
  • The A4-5300 features Advanced Encryption Standard instructions, that provide AES encryption acceleration. The technology is beneficial if you need to protect your disk or network data.
  • The AMD A4-5300 CPU supports AVX, F16C, FMA3 and XOP instructions. Even though these extensions are not extensively used by programs yet, this should improve in future apps.
  • The A4-5300 includes FMA4 instruction set extension. The FMA4 technology is only offered on AMD processors, thus not many software vendors may support it in the future.
  • In addition to 2 CPU cores, the microprocessor embeds Radeon HD 7480D GPU. While this Graphics Processing Unit is not powerful enough to play latest games at full resolution, it can be used for casual gaming and 3D applications.

Benchmarks

System setup

Below is a partial set of AMD A4-5300 and Athlon II X2 270 benchmarks from our CPU benchmark database. The former processor was tested on ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M motherboard with 4GB dual-channel Crucial BallistixPC3-14900 (DDR3-1866) memory, and MSI R6670 1GB GDDR5 (ATI Radeon). The latter processor was tested on ASUS Sabertooth 990FX motherboard, that had 4GB dual-channel Crucial BallistixPC3-14900 (DDR3-1866) memory, and MSI R6670 1GB GDDR5 (ATI Radeon) graphics. For different system configurations please see tests of A4-5300 and Athlon II X2 270 CPUs in our benchmark database.

All tests were performed at default frequency and voltage, using manufacturer's stock fan/heatsink. None of the components were overclocked. Motherboard BIOS options were left at default settings.

The results of all benchmarks are broken into four categories: multi-threaded, single-threaded, memory intensive and graphics / gaming.
