  • The microprocessor supports XOP instructions. These extensions are not extensively used by applications yet, however this should improve in future programs.
  • The CPU incorporates FMA4 instruction set extension. The FMA4 technology is only available on AMD processors, and it may not get broad support from software vendors.
  • The processor has clock multiplier unlocked. The CPU can be freely overclocked on most motherboards if greater performance is desired. Be warned that overclocking can void processor warranty.

Benchmarks

System setup

Below is a complete set of AMD Athlon X4 750K and Intel Core i3-4340 benchmarks from our CPU benchmark database. The former processor was tested on ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M motherboard with 4GB dual-channel Crucial BallistixPC3-14900 (DDR3-1866) memory, and MSI R6670 1GB GDDR5 (ATI Radeon). The latter processor was tested on Intel DH87RL motherboard, that had 2 GB dual-channel Corsair TR3X3G1600C9 DDR3 memory, and MSI R6670 1GB GDDR5 (ATI Radeon) graphics.

All tests were performed at default frequency and voltage, using manufacturer's stock fan/heatsink. None of the components were overclocked. Motherboard BIOS options were left at default settings.

The results of all benchmarks are broken into four categories: multi-threaded, single-threaded, memory intensive and graphics / gaming.


Athlon X4 750K vs Intel Core i3-4340 single-threaded benchmarks

Single-threaded benchmarks run on a single CPU core, and do not depend on such features as the number of cores, or Hyper-Threading technology. Additionally, they do not utilize on-chip caches, dedicated to other cores.
