AMD A8-5557M advantages

  • The A8-5557M has more processing cores than the Intel Pentium 2020M. Large number of cores helps this CPU to tackle many simultaneous threads or processes.
  • The AMD A8-5557M processor includes Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) technology, that accelerates AES encryption. The technology is beneficial if you need to protect your disk or network data.
  • The microprocessor supports AVX, F16C, FMA3 and XOP instructions, introduced in the recent past. Even though these extensions are not widely supported by programs yet, their support should improve in future apps.
  • The processor has FMA4 instruction set extension. The FMA4 technology is only offered on AMD CPUs, for that reason it may not get broad support from software vendors.

  • Base frequency of the microprocessor is higher than the frequency of the AMD A8-5557M CPU.
