Intel Core i5-2300 advantages

Intel Core i5-2300
  • More CPU cores on the i5-2300 help to process multiple simultaneous threads or processes.
  • Operating frequency of the microprocessor is higher than the frequency of the E1-1500.
  • This CPU features SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 instructions.
  • The microprocessor includes Advanced Encryption Standard technology. This extension accelerates AES encryption and decryption, and is useful if you need to protect your disk or network data.
  • The processor supports AVX instructions. Although these extensions are not broadly supported by programs yet, their support should improve in future apps.
  • The Intel i5-2300 works in Socket 1155. The microprocessor can be effortlessly removed from the socket for replacement or upgrade.

E1-1500 vs i5-2300 specifications comparison

The charts below show the difference between Core i5-2300 and AMD E1-1500 most important characteristics. These features, as well as an IPC (instructions per cycle) number, determine how well a processor performs. The "Operating frequency" graph uses dark color to represent base frequency, while lighter area is for additional frequency, provided by Turbo feature. Darker area on the "On-chip cache" graph is for the On-chip L2 cache. Lighter area is for the L3 cache cache. Although the L3 cache cache is usually larger than the On-chip L2 cache, it is always slower.
