Intel Core i7-4900MQ advantages

  • The processor incorporates AVX2 and FMA3 instructions, that were introduced in the recent past. These extensions are not widely supported by programs yet, however this should improve in future applications.
  • Besides 4 CPU cores, the Core i7-4900MQ integrates HD 4600 GPU. This Graphics Processing Unit replaces low-end graphics card, and thus lowers the cost of the system.
  • Power consumption of the microprocessor is better.
  • Based on current official prices, the CPU is 3% cheaper.

Intel Core i7-3930K advantages

  • More CPU cores on the Intel i7-3930K help to process multiple processes or heavily multi-threaded programs.
  • Base frequency of the microprocessor is higher than the frequency of the i7-4900MQ.
  • The Intel i7-3930K features unlocked multiplier. The processor can be effortlessly overclocked on most motherboards if better performance is desired. Be aware that overclocking voids warranty of the CPU.
