AMD A10-5800K advantages



AMD A10-5800K
  • The CPU has SSSE3, SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 instructions.
  • Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) technology is available on this microprocessor. These instructions accelerate AES encryption and decryption, and are useful if you run programs, that secure your disk or network data.
  • The processor includes AVX, F16C, FMA3 and XOP instructions. These extensions are not broadly used by applications yet, but their support should improve in future apps.
  • The AMD A10-5800K CPU features FMA4 instruction set extension. Only AMD CPUs have this technology, for that reason it probably will not get broad support from software vendors.
  • The clock multiplier on the processor is not locked. The CPU can be easily overclocked on most motherboards when better performance is required. Be warned that overclocking can void microprocessor warranty.
  • AMD actively supports Socket FM2, used by the processor, and plans to launch more products for the socket in the future.

  • The A8-3550 incorporates 3DNow! technology. While the 3DNow! instructions may increase performance of certain old games and software, they are now obsolete, and they are not used in modern programs.
  • The A8-3550 is 35% more energy efficient than the A10-5800K CPU.
