  • More CPU cores on the A10-7850K help to handle many simultaneous tasks or threads.
  • The A10-7850K microprocessor comes with higher operating frequency than the Intel i3-4130.
  • The A10-7850K includes XOP instructions, that were introduced in the recent past. While these extensions are not broadly used in programs yet, this should improve in future apps.
  • The CPU features FMA4 instruction set extension. The FMA4 technology is only available on AMD processors, thus not many software vendors may support it in the future.
  • The processor has clock multiplier unlocked. Thus, the microprocessor can be freely overclocked on most motherboards to achieve greater performance. Be aware that overclocking voids warranty of the CPU.

Intel Core i3-4130 advantages

Intel Core i3-4130
  • The microprocessor incorporates AVX2 instructions. These extensions are not extensively supported by applications yet, however their support should improve in future apps.
  • The CPU is 43% more energy efficient than the AMD A10-7850K.
  • Based on current official prices, the Intel Core i3-4130 processor is 32% cheaper.

A10-7850K vs i3-4130 specifications comparison

The charts below compare the most important Intel i3-4130 and A10-7850K characteristics. These features, as well as an IPC (instructions per cycle) number, determine how well a microprocessor performs. The "Number of cores / threads" graph displays the number of cores (darker area). Lighter area on the graph represents the number of extra threads, provided by Hyper-Threading technology. The "Operating frequency" chart uses dark color to represent base frequency, whereas lighter area is for additional frequency, provided by Turbo feature. Darker area on the "On-chip cache" graph is for the On-chip L2 cache. Lighter area is for the L3 cache cache. Although the L3 cache cache is usually larger than the On-chip L2 cache, it is always slower.
