AMD A8-4500M advantages

  • More CPU cores on the A8-4500M help to process multiple tasks or heavily multi-threaded applications.
  • This processor incorporates FMA3 and XOP instructions. Even though these extensions are not widely used in programs yet, their support should improve in future applications.
  • The CPU supports FMA4 instruction set extension. The FMA4 technology is only offered on AMD microprocessors, thus it probably will not get broad support from software vendors.
  • The A8-4500M fits into Socket FS1 (FS1r2). The microprocessor can be removed from the socket without trouble for replacement or upgrade.

Intel Core i5-3230M (BGA) advantages

  • The processor comes with higher operating frequency than the AMD A8-4500M.
